I reached out to Shannon as my small and fast-growing consultancy was reaching the point where we needed to shift from startup to established practice. While the business side of that transition is well documented, I really wanted an external party to help me, personally, shift my role and my thinking.
Shannon provided an excellent sounding board and reflection of what my peers in similar situations have grappled with. She worked with me to identify the goals I was struggling to articulate around my changing role in the company, and helped me clarify entrenched habits or fears that were limiting my ability to see and address real obstacles. She provided me with a toolkit that I found myself referring to repeatedly while making decisions between our sessions; a new way of thinking about my daily tasks to help create immediate small changes that build toward a larger and more lasting pivot, in alignment with the health of the company and my own needs and goals.
None of this could have happened effectively without the framework and pragmatic guidance Shannon offers, and the skill she has in crafting solutions that worked for me. She listened and really heard what I was expressing, and worked with me to find exercises and mindsets that were easy for me to adopt because they resonate with who I am as a person and how I work.
Working with Shannon has helped me gain clarity not only on personal and professional priorities – but to act on that by putting more of my time and focus toward those activities that support those highest priorities – as well as my team and my company’s goals. I strongly recommend her services to anyone needing a shift – whether you want to get clearer on your own priorities in the face of change or need to shift so you get more done of what really needs doing – and find more balance! She’s been there and done it and is an excellent guide for those of us needing a little support and direction for the same.
I’ve worked with Shannon for many years and it’s always a pleasure. The professional coaching is a natural extension of the passion, energy, and focus Shannon brings to all of her work and I’m looking forward to engaging with her again as I grow and change professionally.

When I first started working with Shannon, there were a lot of major changes going on for me personally and professionally. Trying to manage all these changes at the same time was extremely stressful and I found I was reacting to everything all the time.
Working with Shannon allowed me to get clarity and create a solid framework for making decisions that were all interconnected into the direction I needed and wanted to take my business and my personal life. Knowing the specific direction I was going allowed me to be less reactive and make sound decisions that were headed in that direction.
I knew for sure that this was a fit for me after one of the visualization exercises which allowed me to get clarity, during a period of chaos, as to the direction I needed to head and what it looked like in my minds eye. Everything else became an anchor to that point and allowed me to sift through the major matters and transitions going on at that time.
The long term implications of our work together are endless. The work we did changed the complete direction of my life. Due to the major transitions going on, it would have been easy to bury my head into work and wait for the dust to settle. This allowed me to reassess my “entire” life and create a healthy balance between personal and professional fulfillment. I believe that through this, I have become a better father, boss, professional and person overall.
If you are considering working with Shannon, my recommendation to you is: “Do it”. It may seem like a bunch of soft skill nonsense at times but the benefits it provided to me during my major transition period are immeasurable. Shannon James rocks!

Shannon brings an exceptionally diverse skill set to her holistic approach to coaching which examines the root sources of thought and behavior patterns and addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of her clients.
She has been a wonderful sounding board, providing positive feedback and encouragement as well as offering practical exercises, advice, and ideas to help with the issues at hand. Working with Shannon has been a very positive experience, and I highly recommend her services to anyone who needs a little support and direction to achieve their goals.

After a family move to a small town, I felt like I was stuck in a rut. I was going through the motions of work and life, but not really making my time productive. I was keeping busy by doing “busy work”, and often jumping from one item to the next. Despite maintaining a decently successful online consulting business, it no longer felt rewarding, and I knew that something had to change.
Shannon’s in-session activities have helped me on an on-going basis. I’m able to use some of these to self-motivate when I need it. As a result, I am more focused on achieving my goals on a day-to-day basis, which in turn helps me with my long-term life plan.
To anyone considering working with Shannon, I would say that she is thoughtful, focused, and makes the most of the time spent together. She has a way of letting whomever she’s coaching look within themselves to find answers, and then she uses her tools to help you work towards those answers. I highly recommend her.
